What is ghostwriting?
Ghostwriting happens when you hire someone, usually a writer, to help you write something for you. That something could be a book, a blog post, an article, a screenplay, lyrics to a song, a report, a speech, almost anything.
However, books are the most commonly ghostwritten projects books, . And of course, the ghostwriter’s name usually doesn’t appear on the book cover as the author or co-author.

A truly transformative and supportive writing experience.

Some estimate that half of the nonfiction titles on the New York Times bestseller list were written with the aid of a ghostwriter. Some bestselling fiction is ghostwritten as well (Tom Clancy kept churning out titles long after he died when his publisher hired ghostwriters to churn out his thrillers in his style, all thanks to the demand for his kind of book).
Like any professional, a good ghostwriter does not come cheap. You can expect to pay anywhere between $20,000 and $70,000 to hire a ghostwriter to help you write your nonfiction book. That price varies depending on the book's length, the nature of the book, and the quality of the ghostwriter.
Want a bargain ghostwriter? That's fine, but don't expect them to create miracles with your book. Again, as the saying goes, you get what you pay for.
Most times, the process is pretty simple. The ghostwriter meets with the subject, gathers information, whether through further interviews or via email communication, and then uses the information gathered to write the book. The ghostwriter can then add, edit, and generally improve the way the material is presented. When you hire a ghostwriter, it is their job to not only sound like you, but to sound like the best you that you can be: more eloquent, and more concise.
Smart people always hire the best person for the job, if they themselves aren't the best person. And when it comes to writing a book, many people lack the confidence and experience to write. Authoring a book requires that you know how to write, that you write regularly, and that you keep writing. If you would hire a professional to repair your car or remodel your house, it also makes sense that you would do the same with you write a book.
And there is one more factor to consider: ghostwritten books tend to be better written than books by non-writers.
Again, as with any endeavor, time and experience can help make the process not only go faster but create a higher quality product.
